FANES-SENNES-BRAIES NATURE PARK
Established in 1980, the park covers a vast area around Badia, connecting all three valleys. It includes the Fanes and Sennes plateaus, Lake Braies and some of the most famous peaks in the Dolomites: Croda del Becco and Croda Rossa d'Ampezzo.
The park is famous for the unique fauna that has been present here since the Palaeolithic period. Remains of a prehistoric, vegetarian bear have been found, which are now kept in the Ursus Ladinicus museum. Other delightful specimens that can be spotted are marmots, the symbol of the park, whose whistles can be heard from miles away, and the Highlands, interesting long-horned cattle native to Scotland that is fast becoming attached to our beautiful Dolomites.
One of the main access points to the park is in San Cassiano in Badia, a mere 10-minute drive from the hotel.

PUEZ-GEISLER NATURE PARK
Located opposite the Sporthotel Teresa, the park takes its name from the two mountain groups it encloses: the Puez and Geisler. It is crossed by the Alta Via No. 2 from north to south. This protected area includes numerous peaks exceeding 3000 metres. Its exceptional geological variety makes the park unique and a popular destination for passionate geologists.
The dolomite, the distinctive rock of the Dolomites, becomes a unique feature here and forms spectacular towers and pinnacles, which are known as Schlern Dolomite. The park is a destination for hikers and mountaineers thanks to the beautiful Via Ferrate suitable for all levels of difficulty. The most famous and most difficult is the ascent up the south face of the Sassongher, first tackled by Kostner in August 1900.
Within the park, approximately 1½ hours from the Sporthotel Teresa, lies a special trail: the nature trail. This trail starts near the Zanser Alm and encircles an enclosure populated by deer, fallow deer and roe deer. In just over 3 kilometres, it reveals the fauna that inhabits the park, also by way of signs written in Braille. The path gently slopes at 8% and is suitable for wheelchairs.
